The last visit to the UK of members of the Parents Circle-Families Forum included a number of high-profile events and generated a great deal of interest and support for the Forum. Robi Damelin and Mazen Faraj were special guests of the Movement for Reform Judaism, were they addressed their biennial conference and received a standing ovation. In the course of this trip they met separately both the Israeli and the Palestinian ambassadors to the UK, who were interested in exploring possibility of joint future support for the Forum. Other meetings included a talk at Southwark Cathedral to 50 religious leaders, organised by FODIP, a new organisation for the discussion of Israel and Palestine to reduce polarisation and promote better understanding of both people’s narrative and needs; a private meeting with leaders and members of the Palestinian community in London, a talk to 150 pupils (17 year olds) at Haberdashers’ School for Girls – one of London’s most prestigious schools, and a talk to interfaith young activists at St. Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation.
